Twenty Middle Plus One

Oh hey there Bianca and Bailey!

How are my two favorite partners in crime? Our lack of blogging seriously disturbs me and has truly worried out gal (pen) pals at Cocktails at Tiffany’s (sorry ladies, we’re trying, I promise!). They even played virtual Marco Polo to find us. But like the master himself, Waldo, we’re still kind of lost (in the blogging world, career path place and on boot buying blvd).

It was great hanging out with you ladies on Saturday night. I love our impromptu pub crawls. They’re always just the perfect length (since we set the rules) and it was the perfect way to celebrate our good friend’s twenty middle plus one birthday. (Bianca-thanks for sharing your feather earrings with Algebra, er, Bear Paw, that was totally necessary.)

{Picture me floating through a worm hole from right now to a year ago from now}

Aw, the good ol days. Last year. All we could email about was how afraid we were to turn twenty middle. Le sigh. Your twenty middle plus one birthday has come and gone (unblogged about, sad. I heard there was a no pants party?) which means it’s my turn. Whatev. I feel like it’s not even a big deal. There’s so much going on that I couldn’t tell you what day of the week my birthday is. I think it’s a Tuesday? Wednesday? Anyway. We’re heading to Mile High with QDW to celebrate like we did for my Twenty Middle Minus One birthday and I feel like it will be a great little girl’s weekend to bring in the fall (and craziness that will ensue).

Craziness Ahead:
-Football season continues (Pac 12 what? Pass me a 12 pack, I’ll be tailgating)
-Algebra’s band plays The Big Ass Show (Seriously, that’s what it’s really called)
-Halloween (Costume ideas, anyone?)
-Thanksgiving (Bridget in Denver. Bailey in ?. Bianca in ?)
-Fall Semester Wraps Up (Bridget’s next to last, prepare to call her Master Bridget or Master Bates, whichever)
-Bianca finishes the book Bridget gave her and decides on a career path which takes her abroad to Bangladesh and she narrowly misses Bridget’s wedding (at which point Bridget regrets giving her the book in the first place)
-Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Ramadan(?)
-Bridget’s Wedding
-New Years
-2012
-World Ends.

Seems like a lot of craziness, but since the list (not me) brought up the wedding, I can talk about it. It’s three months away. Seriously. Look at a calendar. Three months (ok, three months and two days, but whoa). How did that sneak up on us? Let me put it in perspective for you: Approximately three months ago it was the fourth of July.

{Pause for everyone to regain consciousness}

I thought I had everything pretty “planned and together.” But now, I’m thinking not so much. Even worse, I don’t know the things that I still haven’t done. Sh!t.

Gotta go.

Warning: Too Much Information

Hi Bianca and Bailey!

How are you lovely ladies?! I MISS YOU, BAILEY! And I’m so glad we could meet up for lunch yesterday, Bianca! I’m so stoked for Algebra’s surprise birthday party this weekend! Since you gals are coming, it feels like a party for me.. Sh… don’t tell Algebra (about the party or about me stealing his party thunder and totally enjoying it).

So. I had to take yesterday off (TMI, you’ve been warned) because I have a super painful UTI. It’s horrible. I haven’t had one of these since I was like 10. What the heck?! Where did it come from and why is it showing up now? (My yogi friend is sure it is because I’m stressed, so I’m going to take a moment right now and apologize to my bladder for being super stressed out and not taking adequate bathroom breaks. But ,bladder, I’m (we’re?) a teacher, a bathroom break is a luxury we don’t have.)

Being the kind and wonderful(?) coworker I am, I warned my colleague that I was sick and would have a sub. The dialogue went this way:

Me: Hi! Just FYI I got started getting sick after afternoon recess, got sicker, went to the doctor, am on super strong antibiotics, left sub plans and will have a sub tomorrow.

Her: Oh you first year teachers get sick all the time. I’m sure you’ll be feeling better soon.

Me: (I AM A THIRD YEAR TEACHER, JERK!) Ha. I didn’t know that being a first year teacher caused UTI’s.

Her: Well it sounds like you’re not contagious, so enjoy your day off.

Me: {BRAIN EXPLOSION!}

Am I just being ubber sensitive because I’m stressed out or is she being a jerk? Blah. I think it’s super inconsiderate and mean. Sure, I’m not contagious, but I also couldn’t stand and had to pee every three minutes. RUDE.

Anyway. To make the day better, I have parent teacher conferences today and tomorrow! WA freaking HOO!!!!!!!!

Luckily, my yogi friend suggested some beverages to get me through the day and I think they’re working. I’m actually in a great mood and ready to be here for another 1,345 hours.

Sipping coconut water and Kombucha (I don’t know what it is either),

Bridget

P.S. In case that wasn’t enough information for you – – – the antibiotics turn my pee bright orange. Annnnnd I’m finished.

Happy Birthday, widespread panic.

Bianca and Bridget,

Guess what today is? The one month anniversary of December 19, 2010. And the two month anniversary of November 19, 2010. Isn’t that amazing? I know I can’t believe it, either. But seriously, ladies an anniversary just seems like an excuse for companies to publicize themselves and people to talk about themselves. One year ago I had no idea you two were sitting around doing this sort of thing (pseudo blogging), to be exact October 27th was the day I was introduced. I will be holding my own anniversary at that point in time. But I mean if everyone else is doing it, I guess why not jump on the bandwagon…examples below:

Retail shops: It’s all about the sales (half yearly anniversary sales as well.)
Cities: Celebrations, parades, special city logo (Sun Valley is 75 this year and will be publicizing it ALL year long.)
Humans: Relationship milestones because they can’t believe they’ve made it so far (six month anniversary is my favorite) and birthdays which we constantly lie about.

I Googled 2011 anniversaries and the results are in. Do you know who else you share an anniversary with this year? The 2500 anniversary of the marathon, you marathon runners should have known that one. Jeeps 70th, Peace Corp’s 50th, Widespread Panic’s 25th. And me!

If you and the boyfriends were celebrating monthly anniversaries I might have a problem with this whole celebration. But since you seem to have your milestones in check, I’ll let this one slide. So happy anniversary to us and our sneaky sneaky blog. Kicking ass since January ‘010 (and kicking more ass since October ‘010).

Off to pick out the perfect paper present (since that is the traditional gift),
Bailey

Almost Twenty Middle and Almost Loving It

Oh Hey Hey Bianca!

I’m so glad you got a day off to actually enjoy the hot flash mother
nature is most certainly having! Al Gore must be freaking out right
now. I mean, I’m sure he was happy that he was right about global
warming and all, but that means… HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING
AND ALL and if more people don’t take notice and start driving our
globally friendly vehicles… we’re all gonna die! {Sigh}.

I haven’t been able to enjoy the heat. Like you said, the Vanderbilt
pool closed over a month ago and mostly this is just inconvenient for
my wardrobe. Tomorrow is October which means I should have my new
fall boots broken in by now. Yet they are still in their box,
Bianca! Burnt orange and cayenne red just don’t feel right when it’s
90 freaking degrees outside!

The temp has also been a great excuse for me not to run. It’s right up
there with: “I did it once, I can do it again.” “My birthday is in x
days.” And, “but I need to sleep in if I’m going to run.” And then
repeat, “It’s too hot out…”

Whatever. I did it once, I can do it again (just dreadfully slow this time).

My twenty middle birthday is on Monday. And last week, I was so stoked about turning twenty middle! You threw me an incredible birthday theme party, complete with Guidos, Guidettes and a two day hangover. What’s
not to love? I’ll tell you, what’s not to love, Bianca. I woke up
(albeit hungover as the day after my 21st birthday) and looked in the
mirror and what did I see… CROWS FEET WRINKLES AND SADDLEBAGriffic
THIGHS. Whoa!!! Where the hell did that come from? I swear, I didn’t
have wrinkles before we celebrated my god damn birthday… Oh, and the
hangover, lasted 2 days, not quite the recovery time of a 21 year old.

Meh. Again, whatever. I’m happy, I’m healthy and I have an awesome
life with wonderful friends and family. Algebra is great, too! He’s
been doing “birthday week” surprises all week! I’m loving it! I’ve had
my car cleaned and waxed, a cute picture framed of the two of us and a
neat-o wi-fi thingy for my TV. Woot! Plus, everything has come wrapped
in cute wrapping paper and CAMOUFLAGE DUCT TAPE… ha! Who knew.

I hope you’re having a happy Thursday! I can’t wait to see you on my
couch for girl’s night (aka watch awesome TV and gorge on ice cream).
I have a couch now, so it won’t be a floor night.

Researching Botox,
Bridget
